Amanda, Glenn and Mochi melted my heart during this adorable Folsom Lake engagement photo session. Not only were these pictures to celebrate their love, but Amanda was expecting! We wanted to show off her sweet baby bump, but also focus on the excitement of Amanda and Glenn getting married.
I’ve enjoyed getting to know Amanda and Glenn and am so honored to be their wedding photographer! It was an added bonus to capture their maternity photos too. Talk about a momentous time in their lives! I could not wait to take their photos! Small fun fact, it turns out that we are basically neighbors! We even have the same street address number. We were meant to be haha!
I picked them up the night of their shoot and we drove out to Folsom Lake. They had never had their photos taken before. Nerves were in the air, but I knew I just had to get them feeling comfortable and like themselves. I love doing this by exploring the beautiful location that we choose for our shoot. Folsom Lake has so many different landmark features. We actually had three different looks in what seemed like three different locations! The energy between this adorable couple was contagious! Once we started walking around they started to feel more at ease. I was just another friend tagging along! Mochi was so cute too as she scurried around us.
Instead of posing my couples, I like to use movements to capture their unique love language. I asked them if they ever dance. Watch out, because these two can dance! Haha I just loved it! There is something so special about being in sync with your partner on that level. I love my husband, but we have to work on our own moves haha. Maybe Amanda and Glenn can give us a lesson!? hint hint.
Once Amanda and Glenn forgot I had my camera, I was just a fly on the wall shooting around them. I love stepping back to get the full picture, but am feeling their closeups! My favorite part of the night was when it hit blue hour. By this time we had made our way to the lake. These two were down to get in the water. The sky reflecting around each step was just breathtaking! We were all beaming when we were done. We were able to get to know each other even more and their excitement for their sweet baby and upcoming wedding was overflowing.
Amanda and Glenn, thank you for your trust, friendship and taking me along your journey of love. I am so unbelievably excited for you and can not wait for all the wonderful times coming your way! Life is such a blessing!
