Think glaciers, whales breaching in the distance, helicopter rides over icefields, and private vows in places that feel untouched by the rest of the world. Seward, Alaska and Kenai Fjords National Park are truly one of the most unreal places you could choose for your elopement, and it’s not just about how it looks, it’s about how the entire experience feels from start to finish! Image provided by Pexels Why Seward is the Perfect Home Base for Your Alaska Adventure Elopement Guide Seward is one of those rare places that gives you the best of both worlds, it’s accessible, but still feels remote in the most magical way. The closest airport is Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, and from there it’s about a 2. 5-hour drive to Seward along one of the most scenic highways in the country. This drive is part of the experience, not just a commute. You’ll pass mountains, coastline, and views that honestly don’t even feel real. It’s best done during the day since there’s very limited cell service and wildlife crossings are common. Once you arrive, Seward becomes your home base, where you’ll stay, get ready, and start your adventure. What Makes Kenai Fjords National Park So Special Kenai Fjords National Park is where things go from beautiful to completely unreal. This place is known... --- - Published: 2026-02-20 - Modified: 2026-02-20 - URL: https://christinaperhacphoto.com/eloping-in-mendocino-a-coastal-california-elopement-guide-for-adventurous-couples/ If you’re thinking about Eloping in Mendocino, you’re probably drawn to places that feel quiet, scenic, and a little slower-paced, but still full of adventure! Mendocino is one of those rare Northern California spots where you can have towering redwoods, dramatic ocean cliffs, cozy coastal town energy, and incredible food all in one place. It’s calm without feeling boring, adventurous without feeling overwhelming, and honestly just really easy to fall in love with. Why Eloping in Mendocino Just Makes Sense Mendocino is perfect for couples who don’t want a rushed or overly structured elopement day. The town itself is small, peaceful, and beautiful, with local shops, coffee spots, breweries, and some of the best seafood in Northern California (fresh oysters and Dungeness crab are kind of a big deal here! ). What makes Mendocino special is the variety, you can start your day surrounded by redwoods, spend the afternoon overlooking the ocean, and end with sunset on the coast, all without driving hours between locations. It feels intentional, relaxed, and very “let’s actually enjoy our day. ” Travel & Getting There Mendocino is about 2. 5–3 hours north of San Francisco by car. The closest commercial airport is Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport (Santa Rosa), about 1. 5–2 hours away. Many couples also fly into Oakland or San Francisco International Airport and rent a car. Coastal Highway 1 is scenic but winding, plan buffer time and avoid tight timelines. Cell service can be limited in certain coastal and forested areas!... --- - Published: 2026-01-26 - Modified: 2026-01-26 - URL: https://christinaperhacphoto.com/7-best-california-coast-redwood-elopement-locations-for-nature-loving-couples/ If you’re dreaming of towering trees, misty coastlines, and an elopement day that feels grounded, emotional, and wildly beautiful, these Redwood Elopement Locations are truly something special! California is one of the few places where you can exchange vows beneath ancient redwoods and then head straight to the ocean for cliffside portraits, which honestly feels like the best of all worlds. These locations are perfect for couples who want an elopement that feels intentional, peaceful, and deeply connected to nature, while still being visually stunning and full of variety. Let’s walk through the best options together, yay! ! Russian River + Jenner + Armstrong Redwoods (A Peaceful Redwood Elopement Location) Vibe: This area feels calm, romantic, and incredibly grounding! Armstrong Redwoods offers wide, quiet trails and towering trees that make ceremonies feel slow, intentional, and deeply meaningful. The forest feels peaceful rather than overwhelming, which is perfect if you want an intimate ceremony without feeling lost in a massive park. Russian River adds cozy, small-town beauty, while Jenner brings in dramatic coastal cliffs and ocean views just a short drive away, giving your elopement day beautiful variety without a lot of travel! Best time to elope there: Late spring through early fall is ideal, especially May through September. Summer mornings often bring coastal fog, which creates the dreamiest soft light in the forest, while afternoons usually clear near the coast. Fall is also beautiful here, with warmer tones and fewer visitors. Why Plan a Full-Day or Multi-Day Elopement in Glacier National Park? One of the biggest mistakes couples make when planning their elopement is not planning enough time! The day flies by so quickly, and when you’re in a place as breathtakingly beautiful as Glacier National Park, you’ll want to savor every moment. Especially if you’ve taken the time to travel here from your home state - cutting your day short would be a disservice to you! Together, we crafted a day that blended private, meaningful moments with time celebrating alongside their closest people. Their day was filled with personal details, breathtaking Sierra views, and things that felt so uniquely them. Why Choose Mammoth Lakes for Your Elopement? Anna and Wilson love the outdoors. They used to live in Utah and fell in love with the mountains and endless trails, so when it came time to plan their elopement, the Eastern Sierras were a no-brainer. Mammoth also really has it all! There are alpine lakes, vast meadows, hot springs, forests, and hidden gems everywhere you turn. It’s also a little more off the beaten path than Yosemite or Tahoe, which made it feel intimate while still offering those epic Sierra views. Anna & Wilson’s Mammoth Lakes Elopement When Anna and Wilson first reached out, Wilson was in the middle of military training and waiting to hear where he’d be stationed next. C+D knew they wanted a quite intimate day celebrating their love. Yosemite is a special place they had visited throughout their relationship and it only felt right to exchange their vows there. Both had memories of coming with their families and exploring the valley floor. The magical hazy sunset phenomenon of soft light danced off the rock faces. It was truly incredible to see and it makes for dewiest imagery. After C+D exchanged their vows in the meadow, they headed to the Chapel to celebrate! While, they chose not to rent out the space for their ceremony, they still wanted to incorporate the historic building into their story. We had a blast as they ran down the steps cheering! You leave the airport and suddenly you're driving through lava fields that look like another planet. Then an hour later you're standing beside a waterfall getting absolutely blasted by sideways mist while trying not to laugh through it. And somehow, two hours after that, you're parked near a black sand beach wondering how one country can look this different within a single afternoon. That's what makes Iceland so good for elopements. You are not stuck choosing one landscape or one experience. Your wedding day can actually move. It can breathe a little. You can road trip, hike, stop at random pull-offs, soak in hot springs, and end the night eating gas station candy in the car while the weather changes for the fifth time that day. Honestly, Iceland weather has a sense of humor. Whether you’re dreaming of a peaceful ceremony among the giant trees or a quiet walk on the misty coastal trails, eloping in redwoods is a great choice! Here are my top 5 reasons why you should elope in the Redwoods! Mild Weather One of the best things about the redwoods is the mild, steady climate, perfect for an elopement any time of year. Located along the Northern California coast, this area enjoys cool, temperate weather, with foggy mornings, gentle breezes, and pleasant afternoons. Summers aren’t scorching hot, and winters are more about misty days than snowstorms. But as with any outdoor elopement and whichever season you choose, make sure you’re prepared for the weather and bring along waterproof clothing, some layers, and good, sturdy boots to trek the trails. The Perfect Coastal Location If you can’t decide between majestic forest vibes or beach shores for your elopement, you don’t have to choose when you’re eloping in Redwoods. Many of the redwood parks and reserves are just a short drive from California’s dramatic coastline, which means you can seamlessly incorporate both forest and beach into your day. Here, you can start your day with a ceremony among the tall, ancient trees and then head down to the nearby coast for a celebratory picnic with ocean views (and, of course, take photos along the way! ).   More Secluded, Private Experience The redwoods offer an unparalleled sense of... --- - Published: 2024-11-07 - Modified: 2024-12-04 - URL: https://christinaperhacphoto.com/glacier-point-elopement-at-sunrise/ D and P celebrated their love with a Glacier Point elopement at sunrise in Yosemite National Park. Photographed by Northern California photographer, Christina Perhac Photography. A San Francisco City Hall Elopement is timeless and unforgettable! Daryl and Jonathon were planning a beautiful wedding in Cabo. They found the process of actually getting married in Mexico to be more challenging, so they decided to elope before. They shared a private ceremony with their parents. I was ecstatic to photograph their beautiful morning. Daryl and Jonathon were so giddy upon arriving to City Hall. Their parents looked on with so much adoration and excitement. Upon receiving their marriage license we climbed the stunning stairs to the rotunda. There they shared a quiet civil ceremony. After, they soaked up the moment with their family, we snapped a few portraits and then we were off to explore and capture their love throughout City Hall. When we were done taking photos in the building, we ventured outside into the park area. Their family setup the cutest cake for cutting and had champaign ready for a toast. I just loved their sweet morning celebration. It was a joy to capture it all. Your wedding day is about you and your love. It's your perfect vision of desires and wants that will make you happy! They were so delighted to get more use out of their wedding attire. You can never have too many photos! Especially since Covid stole them of their big plans. We were expecting a sunny day, but we were pleasantly surprised by the moody grey skies. Bring on the moodiness! The lighting was perfect and we felt truly lucky to be there. I gave some guidance for movement, but it was so fun to let their love language shine through. They were so playful with each other. I have been dying to share these dreamy, sunset, elopement, styled photos from Joshua Tree, California. What an adventure! My gorgeous models and great friends, Alix + Tevy, literally knock your socks off with their candid playful cuteness! This shoot was planned to inspire the boho, free-spirited at heart, souls, looking to capture their special day in the magical desert. All you need are some great outfits, gorgeous florals and your love! We had the best time with our windows down, music up, driving through the park, taking in the massive rock formations and warm desert vibes. We had our sites set on a sunset location deep in the park. It is the best place to see the sun go down! Stopping a few times along the way, we were able to adventure around and take in the wonders of the park. As we stepped out of the car at our last location, golden hour was finally upon us. The vast desert canyon lay before us, lit up like a ball of fire and light. This is where the styling and planning all came together. The sun's rays accented the maroon suit as the bright boho dress glimmered in the light. The wild landscape unfolded before us complimenting the western styled accents. Guiding Tevy and Alix where to stand, I gave simple prompts, but asked them to just be themselves and take in the moment. Gasping for air at the stunning composition before me, I dashed... --- ---
