Daysi and Steven’s Glen Oaks Big Sur elopement felt like an absolute dream of a day. They wanted a day that reflected their love of nature, quiet moments, and simple beauty. And between the cozy redwood grove at Glen Oaks and the cliffs of Garrapata, their elopement was exactly that.

Why Daysi & Steven Chose a Glen Oaks Big Sur Elopement

Daysi and Steven wanted to elope somewhere that felt magical and meaningful and had stunning landscapes. They had already visited Garrapata State Park and loved it! They even joked about getting married there someday. Turns out, they manifested it perfectly.

They also wanted to experience the redwoods, so I helped them find the perfect spot to stay — Glen Oaks Big Sur. It’s one of my favorite recommendations for couples who want that forest experience without large crowds or complicated logistics. Getting Ready + First Look at Glen Oaks

Daysi and Steven got ready separately, then met under the canopy of redwoods for their first look. I loved witnessing that sweet mix of nervous excitement and pure joy! Moments like these really make my job feel extra special every single time.

We wandered the grove together afterward, exploring the trails and soaking in how surreal it felt to be surrounded by these massive trees. The sunlight broke through in little beams, catching in Daysi’s veil and making it glow. It was seriously unreal!

Vows on the Cliffs of Garrapata

After walking the grove and soaking in the magic of the redwoods, we drove down Highway 1 toward Garrapata. We walked the bluff trail until we found a quiet spot overlooking the coastline, waves crashing far below. The cliffs were painted with wildflowers and dry brush, and that’s where they exchanged their vows.

Elopement Picnic on the Cliffs

After their ceremony, we headed to the next part of Garrapata for a picnic overlooking the ocean. I set up their picnic with my special kit, and Daysi had packed a small heart-shaped cake, champagne, and snacks. There’s something about eating cake and drinking champagne with the ocean roaring beneath you that just feels unreal.

As the sun dipped lower, we wandered along the cliffs, lanterns in hand, the wind tossing her veil around them. It was sooo cinematic, and absolutely stunning.
