Eloping in Yosemite National Park in late fall is equal parts magic and trust, and Lila & Andrew leaned into it fully. From the very first message, they were excited, hopeful, and open to the adventure of planning an intimate Yosemite elopement in November. They reached out just a couple of months before their day, dreaming of Glacier Point, road-tripping from Texas with their two adorable pups, and creating something deeply personal and intentional. This day was never about perfection, it was about connection, flexibility, and choosing joy no matter what Yosemite decided to do. And honestly? That mindset made everything that followed feel extra incredible!!

Eloping in Yosemite National Park in November: What Couples Should Know
Eloping in Yosemite National Park this time of year comes with a little bit of unpredictability, and that’s actually part of the beauty. Yosemite has seasonal road closures, and Glacier Point is always a maybe in November, so we planned smart with both a Plan A and a Plan B. Plan A was a sunrise adventure at Glacier Point with a first look and private vows, and Plan B was heading into the Valley and spreading their moments across multiple iconic spots. This kind of flexibility is so important when eloping in Yosemite National Park in the fall, and Lila & Andrew handled it with so much grace and excitement. When you’re open to pivoting, the experience stays fun, calm, and grounded, and that energy truly sets the tone for the whole day.

A Sunrise First Look & Private Vows at Glacier Point
The morning of their elopement arrived and the weather gods absolutely showed up for us, Glacier Point was still open… and not just open, but open for the very last day of the season!! I met Lila & Andrew at sunrise in the parking lot, and even though they arrived together, they still wanted that special first look moment. Andrew went off for a walk while Lila used my pop-up tent to change into her stunning dress, and from there we quietly made our way to their first look spot.
Keeping Andrew’s eyes forward and Lila hidden as we walked felt like such a sweet, playful moment in itself. When Andrew finally turned around and saw Lila, his face said everything, pure joy, awe, and so much love! They shared private vows as the sun peeked over the mountains, and the light was unreal. Afterward, I gave them time alone before we explored Glacier Point together, running across the road, climbing rocks, and soaking in the stillness of the park. It was peaceful, cozy, and surprisingly not cold at all!!

Why Planning Where You Stay Matters When Eloping in Yosemite National Park
One thing I always emphasize when couples are eloping in Yosemite National Park, especially in fall, is how important it is to choose the right place to stay. I shared a list of cozy, dog-friendly options with Lila & Andrew because comfort matters so much on your wedding day. You deserve to feel a little spoiled, it is your wedding after all!! Staying closer to the park can make everything easier if weather rolls in, and it keeps the day feeling relaxed instead of rushed. Even when plans shifted and we had to adjust last minute, having flexibility and being nearby allowed the day to flow beautifully without stress!

Eloping in Yosemite National Park with Dogs (Yes, It’s Possible!)
After the morning adventure, we regrouped in the park and continued the day with their pups by their side, which felt so perfectly them! We explored some of my favorite Valley locations together, including Sentinel Beach, Yosemite Chapel, Cook’s Meadow, and detail photos near El Capitan. Having their dogs there added such a personal, joyful layer to the day, and it’s a great reminder that eloping in Yosemite National Park can still be deeply meaningful and customized to your life. We ended the evening with blue hour lantern photos at Tunnel View, wrapping up the day in the calmest, dreamiest way.

Officiating & Elopement Support: Creating a Personal Experience
In addition to photographing their day, I also officiated Lila & Andrew’s elopement, something I offer as part of my services and tailor to each couple. They shared private vows, I guided them through a heartfelt ring exchange, and we signed their marriage papers together, all in a way that felt true to them. This part of the experience can be as involved or as simple as couples want, and my goal is always to make it feel personal, comfortable, and meaningful. Being trusted with both roles is something I don’t take lightly, and it was such an honor to stand with them during such an important moment!
